Three culinary school students have been invited to appear on a popular cooking show that pits visiting chefs against the experts.

Based on the hit Japanese series Iron Chef, Iron Chef America invites challengers to compete against a team of world-class chefs that includes Bobby Flay, Mario Batali, Masaharu Morimoto, Cat Cora and Michael Symon.

The students who will make an appearance are Katelyn Remick, Julie Fieder and Tyler Burke, and they will compete against Iron Chef Symon.

"I want to make every person that's taken a part in shaping me as a chef more than proud," said Burke.

The episode will air on Sunday, September 27 at 9 p.m. on the Food Network. The students were selected based upon their academic excellence, experience and passion for cooking. They have been practicing about five times a week to prepare for the competition, in addition to attending their classes at culinary school.

If you've always wanted to be a chef, competitive or otherwise, consider enrolling in culinary school today. A culinary arts degree could lead to a very fulfilling career.
