Gordon Ramsay Turns Down the Heat for Live Cooking Special

British celebrity chef, Gordon Ramsay, known for his fiery personality and uninhibited critique on the popular cooking shows Hell's Kitchen, The F-Word and Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, will be featured in a live one-hour special entitled Gordon Ramsay: Cookalong Live. Airing on Fox at 9:00 p.m. on December 15, the program will showcase Ramsay as cooking instructor, guiding home chefs step by step through the preparation of a three-course meal in just 60 minutes.
One of the show's aims is to present a side of Ramsay that's less gruff, less tough—the side that is truly passionate about cooking good food and about sharing that passion with others. That aspect of the sometimes-volatile TV chef is evident in his off-screen activities, including eight cookbooks (with a ninth scheduled for release in September), numerous restaurants, and, more recently, an involvement in culinary school management with his partial ownership of the renowned Tante Marie School of Cookery in Surrey, England.
December's one-hour special will bring Ramsay's expertise to a wider, more casual audience of aspiring cooks, who will be given a list of necessary utensils, cookware and ingredients to set up ahead of time. And for those who can't get enough of his taskmaster persona, never fear—Fox has ordered an eighth season of his reality cooking show, Hell's Kitchen.
